Drawing its name from the Latin "imāgō" and the Japanese word for "now," IMA Studio embodies the fusion of timeless art and present-day innovation. Established in 2023 by Kuo-Wei Lin, IMA Studio is dedicated to art and photography production, catering to those in pursuit of unparalleled visual representation.

Bio

Kuo-Wei Lin is a visual artist, born in 1982 in Taiwan, lives and works in Berlin and Bremen.

Kuo-Wei Lin moved to Paris in 2000, he studied art at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, Chelsea College of Art in London, Institute für Kunst im Kontext, Universität der Künste Berlin, and in 2012 he earned his Meisterschüler at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee. He is a member of an artist collective in Berlin: ANDPRESS.

Kuo-Wei Lin has exhibited his works at the Missread, HKW, Berlin (2022); the Papier Marché, Steirischerherbst in Graz, Austria (2021); the Taipei Fine Arts Museum (2016); the Taipei Biennial (2014); the Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei (2013); the Institut Français Berlin, Germany (2012); the Centre Emile Hamilius, Casino Luxembourg (2011); the Uferhallen, Berlin (2010); the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (2009); the Manggha Centre of Japanese Art and Technology, Krakow, Poland (2008); the Tate Britain, London (2007); and the Goethe-Institut Lyon, France (2006).
